Who We Are
The national Guiding Star Project was born out of the conviction that women deserve far more than the current standard for mainstream women’s medical care.
Guiding Star Cedar Valley is part of a national movement to create a wholistic, truly empowering healthcare alternative. We believe every person deserves excellent healthcare. Guiding Star provides specialized, integrated services for women’s health and wellness.
We recognize the need for an authentic approach to “wholistic” women’s healthcare and want the women we work with to feel seen, heard, and supported in their health journey.
At our center, we offer fertility education, pregnancy and postpartum support, miscarriage and infant loss support, as well as many other comprehensive health services through partnering organizations and providers.
We believe we can improve today's approach to women's healthcare
The looping message from the mainstream medical community teaches women their natural body is not enough. They teach women they must fight and change the natural, normal functions of their bodies to squeeze into societal molds. Standard medical protocols today aren’t always concerned with what’s best for a whole woman’s health, and women and babies are the ones who suffer.
The modern mainstream healthcare culture can make women feel alone and uncomfortable with their bodies. Often times, practitioners are busy and unconnected to the resources they need to empower women with the message that she was made good. But we’re here now and ready to change that.
Guiding Star Cedar Valley’s Solution: Wholistic Women’s Healthcare
We serve women with a “wholistic” approach that honors their bodies and hearts; recognizing our needs are not only just physical but emotional and spiritual as well. We believe each woman who comes to our center is much greater than a number or a problem to be solved. She is a beautiful creation who deserves medical care that cares about her.
We empower women to learn about, embrace, and love their natural bodies. We greet women on various stages along their individual journeys and welcome them into the Guiding Star community.
Guiding Star Cedar Valley believes that instead of suppressing a woman’s body and its ability to create life, we should honor it by helping women understand and feel supported in their natural design.
We also provide access to services and support for women’s physical, mental, and family health over the course of a lifetime. We know women are capable of amazing things, but we also know sometimes we all need a guiding star on this journey through life.
