Give By Mail - Employer Match
Your gift could be matched by your employer! Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match dollar-for-dollar any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees, retirees, and/or employees’ spouses. Double the generosity! Check with your employer to see if they match contributions. If so, obtain and complete appropriate matching gift form.
Qualified Charitable Distribution from Your IRA
If you are 70½ or older, talk to your investment professional about making charitable gifts to Guiding Star Cedar Valley directly from your IRA, a method known as a “Qualified Charitable Distribution” (QCD). You do not have to count these distributions as taxable income, so there is no need to itemize. This method may also help keep your Medicare premiums low.
