Research says that up to 45% of women during their postpartum period experience some type of pelvic floor weakness. The question each of us ask is, just how exactly do we do this? Bryndee a licensed physical Therapist from Mercy One will be sharing ways that you can improve your pelvic floor. She will be showing exercises, sharing information, and allowing you to become more in tune with your body!
Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles and ligaments that support the bladder, uterus, and bowel. These muscles help you control bladder and bowel function. Childbirth is one common cause of a weak pelvic floor. There are so many benefits of pelvic floor exercises; including making the birthing process easier, treating urinary incontinence, strengthening support for your baby while pregnant, and SO much more. Pelvic floor exercises are beneficial for your overall health. Integrating a few things into your daily routine can significantly improve your quality of life.
